AstarPass has arrived
It seems like Sota Watanabe and the rest of the Astar Network team just don’t know how to stop building and making this incredible blockchain better and easier to use.
The biggest challenge for dApps on Astar is attracting new users, and with AstarPass that is going to become a whole lot easier as projects will now have a new playing field when it comes to providing perks to those users.
What is it and what benefits does it bring?
In short, AstarPass is the mapping between your native Astar Native Address (polkadot.js or talisman wallet) and your Astar EVM Address (metamask).
The reason why this is such a big feature is that this now allows projects on the Astar blockchain to offer you some additional benefits for staking your $ASTR on their dApp, in my case the mighty Astar Degens.
How to get AstarPass?
Well, the team made sure the process is easy as it gets so all you need to do is:
- Go to https://astarpass.astar.network/#/register
- Click on “Connect Native Wallet” to connect your polkadot.js / talisman wallet
- After that, click “Connect MetaMask” and simply follow the instructions in the wallet
Bonus: Claim your Free Astranaut NFT
After you are done with the mapping process, you will be able to claim a free Astarnaut NFT by clicking on the “Go to Minting Site” button (Note: in order to be eligible for the free mint you need to be staking with one of the dApps on Astar).
Once you are on the minting page, simply connect your MetaMask wallet and you will be able to mint your free NFT that will later appear in your TofuNFT account.
