There is little time, and a lot to cover in the first Blacksmith Crypto Update, and no one has more than a few minutes for a Medium article anyway, so let’s jump straight into it!
DopeWolves NFT - AMA & Mint
The team at Dope Wolves has been working around the clock on many things since I mentioned them in my previous Medium post, and the day we’ve all been waiting for is just around the corner.
Before we jump into the details regarding the mint, there is one more important event leading up to it and that is the DopeWolves AMA on the Oasis Telegram channel on Thursday at 8 PM UTC (Feb 17th). During the call, they will not only answer the questions from the community, but they will also be giving away 2,500 $ROSE, 35 whitelist spots and 10 NFTs so make sure you join the AMA!
Aside from that, the CEO of the project, Joan Dies, also known as “Mask" has doxed himself and you can check all of that in the official whitepaper released by the team.

Astar Degens DAO - More than an NFT
One of the most interesting projects I’ve come across is Astar Degens which has only one mission in mind and that is to incubate promising projects and bring new ideas to the Astar Ecosystem with the help of a community-governed DAO fund.
The project has gained a lot of interest and is taking the Astar Network by storm while also being backed by the main man Sota Watanabe himself who has agreed to be the guardian of the keys to the DAO funds until a multisig is implemented, which is a huge plus for the project.
Why is it more than an NFT?
A collection of 10,000 NFTs inspired by the degen in all of us will have an additional utility, to fund the DAO. 70% of the funds raised from NFT minting will be moved to DAO wallet to start supporting the builders & projects from both the Dotsama ecosystem.
A portion of profits from the DAO investments will be used to reward the holders of the Astar Degen NFT. An exact decision on how the holders will be rewarded (Staking/Holding/any other means) will be made after the mint, once the DAO is formed, meaning just one more reason to mint one.
There are also discussions about building a P2E game in which the NFTs will also have utility, probably nothing, right?

All degens are born equal and the team doesn’t believe in exclusivity which means everyone will be able to mint and you will need to send $ASTAR tokens to your Metamask wallet to do so (click here to see the official tutorial).
